What is Soundeo?
Soundeo is a subscription-based platform to download music where depending on the type of “Premium” package you decide to buy, you can have full access to a large catalog of current electronic music for a very reasonable price.
Each Premium package is valid for 30 days in which you can download a certain number of tracks in total or a certain amount of tracks per day. For example, the Premium 5 package allows you to make 5 downloads per day for a total of 150 tracks during a period of 30 days. Currently, Soundeo has 6 Premium packages ranging from Premium 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 150. This means that depending on the package you buy you can download from 5 to 150 tracks per day.
This platform has three audio formats available for download. Real MP3 (320 kbps, 44100 Hz, stereo, metadata, release deck), AIFF (44100 Hz, 16 or 24-bit, stereo, metadata, release deck), and WAV (44100 Hz, 16 or 24-bit). Once you download a track in one format, you can download it again in the same or in another available format.
The great thing about Soundeo is that once you download a track it will always be available in your account, so you can access it and re-download it even without an active Premium membership or package.
There are currently more than 600,000 tracks available for download in the 38 genres or subgenres of electronic music. Also, you can filter your search by music styles, artists, record labels, and even musical notes.
How to use Soundeo?
How do you create an account?
- To create an account you first go to the Soundeo homepage and then click on the Account button located in the top menu.
- Then this box will open below and you can click on the link below where it says Register now! Then you will only have to enter your email address to register to receive a temporary password to log in for the first time.
- Once the email has been entered, Soundeo will send you a temporary password. To change your password you just have to go to the Account section of the screen in the image below and click on the password option.
How do you search for music on Soundeo?
If you are at this point you probably already have some artists in mind to start searching. You can use the search bar in the top right of the soundeo website and type the name of your favorite artist, record label, or track. You can also use the Top 100 downloads and see the most popular tracks, which you can also filter by your favorite genre or style.
Another cool thing you can do with Soundeo to keep up with recent releases is to follow the artists or record labels of your choice. Every time you click on the title of a track, the complete information of the track will open and it will give us the options to follow the artists and the labels. You can follow them by clicking the eye icon next to their name.
Once you have found the tracks you like then you can add them to your favorites list by clicking on the star icon. This list is private to only you.
How can you download music on Soundeo?
To download the music you just have to select the audio format of your choice and it will be downloaded automatically by your browser to your downloads folder. By default, Soundeo has MP3 and WAV formats for download.
If you prefer the AIFF format, you can go to settings by clicking the Account button on the top menu and then go to the Preferred lossless format options and change from WAV to AIFF, and it will automatically change the option from WAV to AIFF on all tracks.
Once downloaded, you can download it again in the same format or in another format without any problems. Even if you don’t have a Premium package activated, you can always go back to your downloaded tracks and re-download them.
How do you use votes in Soundeo?
The heart icon that you can see on music that is not available for download is how you let soundeo know there are enough people interested in that track and to make it available for download by the community. If it is a new track it will require about 10 votes to be available. Music that has been out for a while and is not available for download normally only requires 4 to 5 hearts to make it available. Once the track has reached the required number of votes, it may take up to 24 hours to be ready for you to download.

If you vote for a track, you can return that vote by clicking on the heart icon itself. Your vote can be returned as long as the track has not reached the minimum necessary to be available for download. You can also access the list of all the tracks you’ve voted for by clicking the heart button in the top menu.
